Modernization of Waste Management System

Champawat Nagar Palika has undertaken a major project to modernize the town’s overall waste management infrastructure. This initiative focuses on improving daily waste collection, segregation, transportation, and disposal processes to ensure a cleaner and healthier urban environment.
Under this project, the municipality is implementing door-to-door waste collection services, installing color-coded bins for segregation, upgrading waste transportation vehicles, and establishing a scientific processing system in alignment with the Solid Waste Management Rules. Public awareness campaigns are also being conducted to encourage residents to participate actively in waste reduction and recycling.
By adopting modern waste-handling practices, the Nagar Palika aims to reduce pollution, enhance sanitation standards, and work toward making Champawat a cleaner and more sustainable municipality.
